Alerts and notifications

Where to see alerts

The top of the panel shows "N alerts active". Click it to see recent alerts and their subjects (nodes, sites, certificates and so on). A "recovered" message is sent when the problem is gone.

Alert rules (administrators)

Administrators set alert rules under Security Center › Protection settings › Alerts, for example node offline, memory threshold, attack alerts, certificate expiry and a stalled business-database backup. Each rule has an adjustable threshold and can be enabled or disabled.

Tip Run the default rules for a week, then tune thresholds to what you see, so you don't get so many alerts that nobody reads them.

Message subscriptions

Go to Account Center › Message Subscriptions to choose which messages you receive and through which channel. Account Center › Message History lets you look back at sent messages.

Channels (email, SMS and so on) are configured by the administrator in the system settings; channels that aren't configured can't be selected here.

Expiry reminders

From 7 days before the license, WAF Plus, WAF Rules Update or IP geolocation expires, a reminder is sent once a day.

Caution If an alert channel is broken, no notification arrives at all. After configuring it, send a test message to confirm it gets through.

For an attack alert, start with the attack log.
